Every Establishement Has A Policy
Delta State Taskforce On Environment Responds To Claims By Onduku Charles Oyinbi
May 5, 2022.
The attention of the office of the State Taskforce On Environment has been drawn to an online publication made by Mr. Charles Oyinbi Onduku on Thursday 5th of May 2022.
Mr. Charles Onduku a former staff of the Delta State Taskforce On Environment, in the publication raised some flimsy issues which he claimed led to his resignation as a media aide to the taskforce.
First, the Taskforce on Environment has an existing policy which has been laid bare for all staff from inception.
Mr. Charles Onduku cannot say he is not aware of these policies which have been echoed severally to all staff during our weekly and monthly meetings.
The Agency has over the years condoned the excesses of Mr. Charles Onduku particularly that he absconds from duty for days.
Another of his excesses is that he often engages in fisticuffs with other staff, the lastest of such earned him a one month suspension starting April 5, 2022.
He was due to resume on May 5, 2022.
But to our dismay, rather than report back to duty sobered up, he dropped his resignation letter on May 4, 2022, with scathing remarks against the Taskforce ostensibly, to coverup his wrong doings.
One of the issues he raised was deduction of his salary as if he was not aware of the Agency's policy against truancy and other acts of irresponsibility.
The Agency made it clear that for any staff who failed to report to duty without authorisation the sum of One Thousand Naira (N1000.00) will be deducted from his/her salary.
The State Taskforce On Environment has consistently informed all staff that it occupies an important segment in the function of this administration, which is, enforcing cleanliness throughout Delta State and must be seen to be living up to expectation.
This can be best achieved when all hands are on deck. Mr. Onduku often chooses to take his hands off the deck when it mattered most.
It is therefore a settled matter that any staff who absents him/herself without due authourisation would be sanctioned.
Similarly, any staff who engages in fighting on duty will be suspended from work or face more stringent disciplinary measures as management deem most appropriate.
The Agency has condoned the excesses of Mr. Charles Onduku with the believe that as a young man with potentials he will turn a new leaf and can be encouraged to be of better behaviour.
Some of Mr. Onduku's excesses include:
* Severally absenting himself from work without permission.
*Using abusive words on Management cadre staff and other members of staff.
* Regular lateness to work.
* Always closing before the stipulated time
*Leaving the office without permission
* Fighting at work place
* Consumption of alcohol before resuming the day's duty.
Mr. Charles Onduku side stepped his excesses which the Agency consistently overlooked and rather than apologise for his obvious infractions of work rule and ethics caused a publication in which he attempted to paint the Agency black.
Having viewed his claims, the Agency is constrained to demand from Mr. Charles Onduku a well deserved apology over his unnecessary and ill advised outburst, and an immediate retraction of the said online publication.
The Agency has no reason to engage in any exchanges with its former employee and will make no further comments on this issue.
